January 2 marked the end of Chandler Massey's Daytime Emmy-winning run as Will Horton on Days of Our Lives. In the four years Massey inhabited the role of Lucas (Bryan Datillo) and Sami's (Alison Sweeney) son, Will dated Gabi (Camila Banus)—whom he later got pregnant—had lots of unintentional homoerotic chemistry with the Brothers DiMera, came out as gay, fell in love with Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) and covered up a whole slew of felony crimes.
For my money, Will's most significant relationships during this time period were with his gorgeous grannies, Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and cosmetics queen Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Doc and Kate were two of the first people in Salem to love Will unconditionally. The boy's bond with Marlena especially proved Dee Hall didn't need Drake Hogestyn or Wayne Northrop to still be part of a "supercouple".
We're gonna miss Massey at Daytime Confidential, but wish Guy Wilson the best as he assumes the popular role on Jan 8. Now it's your time to have your say.
